Meet Paul
Paul Berger is a photographer, writer, and traveler whose work explores happiness, human connection, belonging, and the quiet beauty woven into everyday life. For more than fifteen years, he has traveled throughout Nepal, Bhutan, Thailand, Laos, India, and other parts of Asia documenting the lives of Buddhist monks, remote communities, sacred festivals, and ordinary moments often overlooked in modern life.
Through immersive storytelling and documentary photography, Berger seeks to create a quieter alternative to modern self-help culture. His writing and images invite readers to slow down, reconnect with themselves and others, and recognize that happiness is often found not in extraordinary achievements, but in ordinary moments we are usually too distracted to notice.
Berger is equally at home photographing lions in the African plains, celebrating festivals on the streets of Bangkok or sitting with monks in the Himalayas. He subscribes to the Tolkien philosophy the greatest adventure is what lies ahead. Berger currently lives in Las Vegas and continues to travel extensively in search of stories, images, and moments that reveal the shared humanity beneath modern life’s noise and distraction. If you are going to be in Vegas and he is in town (not too often) he is always happy to share stories over a pint.
His upcoming book project, Where Joy Lives, blends memoir, visual storytelling, and reflections inspired by years spent living, teaching, traveling, and photographing throughout Asia. The project explores how a calmer, more meaningful, and more connected life may be closer than we realize.
